A Paris Weeknight

All the pictures are out of order, but who cares.... it is too hard to move them around. After the first day of our student teaching, some of the girls and I decided to go see the moulin rouge area in Paris.. It was interesting to say the least. If you enjoy going into sex shops with a group of giggly girls. Anyways, it was an experience and you have to go see famous stuff when you're in a big city. After seeing moulin rouge, though, we went and bought wine, and I bought cookies (of course) and we went and drank. We sat by the Seine river right by the Notre Dame. It was lovely. We debated going to the Eiffel tower to drank but good thing we didn't since there were pretty bad riots that night in that area.

Paris Day Two Adventures

A day mostly filled with wandering, using our open bus tour passes, with the study abroad group. I had macaroons for the first time today and they were yummy and amazing. I'm hooked. I didn't take the greatest pictures today I'm a little mad at myself about that. :(

Paris: Day One

After arriving in Paris around noon, another girl in the study abroad group and I wandered a little bit and went and saw the Arc de triomphe. Quite beautiful.

Selfies

Note to self: I need to take more close ups. Especially one of a baguette.
I wish Drewby was here to travel with me.

Chorizo Burgers with Feta Bacon Guacamole

The works:
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1/2 pound chorizo
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire
  • S&P
  • 3 avocados, mashed
  • 3 strips of bacon
  • 1/4 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1-2 tsp lime juice
  • eggs, optional
The creation: First, mix your ground chuck, worcestershire and chorizo. Don't over mix the meat. Shape into 4-6 patties. Grill them or cook them on the stovetop, just make sure they are cooked through since the mixture has the chorizo in it. Cut your bacon into cubes and cook until brown and crispy. Drain and cool your bacon. Mix your avocado, lime juice, chopped yellow onion, and feta cheese together. Then add your cooled bacon to the guacamole. Take a cooked burger, top with guacamole mixture, then top with a fried egg if you'd like. Burgers are always better with a fried egg.

Spring Break 2013: Appalachian Trail

What was supposed to be a 5 day hike on the AT turned into a 3 day hike due to bad weather and being extremely tired. But it was still beautiful!
